He's A Cowboy, And He's Alive. Jon Bon Jovi Death Hoax Rattles Twitterverse
Dry those eyes and stop listening to "Always" on repeat. Jon Bon Jovi is not dead. He's still livin' on a prayer and appears to be enjoying the holidays in his old 'hood of New Jersey.
Earlier today a website dubbed "dailynewbloginternational" posted a false story titled, "International Rockstar Legend Jon Bon Jovi dead at 49." The poorly written hoax claims paramedics found the star in a coma at a New Jersey hotel and that he suffered cardiac arrest.
Though bogus, the report made the rockstar a top trending topic on Twitter today.
The false account may have "borrowed" sentences from a 2009 L.A. Times story announcing Michael Jackson's death. "The story had changed some words and details," says L.A. Now, but some of the sentences appear to be copied. We reviewed, and yes, both stories are strikingly similar.
Jon Bon Jovi posted the above photo on his Facebook page earlier this afternoon, assuring fans that he is indeed alive and merry.
The Times is investigating the hoax. Check out the Times post here to do your own probing.
