Buscaino or Furutani For CD15 Seat? Former Councilwoman Hahn Won't Endorse Either
The runoff election between Joe Buscaino and Warren Furutani to fill the vacated Los Angeles City Council district 15 seat takes place on January 17, but if voters were looking to the former seat holder, U.S. Rep. Janice Hahn (D-San Pedro), for her endorsement, they're going to have to keep looking. Hahn says she won't endorse either, according to the Daily Breeze.
Hahn says both candidates are good friends of hers. She adds: "I've been getting pressure from all sides to endorse one or the other. I think both would make great council members for the 15th District."
Both Buscaino and Furutani list their respective endorsements from other organizations and individuals online.
Buscaino and Furutani emerged as the two top vote-getters among a crowded pack vying for the seat in the November elections. Hahn stepped down to run for the congressional seat when it was vacated by Jane Harman; she defeated Republican small business owner Craig Huey in July in a runoff.
