The Mighty Santa Ana Winds Return For Another Round

Hang on to your hats: the Santa Ana winds are returning for another round this week.

The National Weather Service has issued a special weather statement warning SoCalians that another round of "strong and potentially damaging offshore winds" is headed our way tomorrow — and it's supposed to last until the weekend. As always, the storm will be the worst in the mountains, mountain passes and valleys. But instead of the winds turning the San Gabriel Valley into "a little pocket of destruction" like they did this month, these winds are supposed to hit the Santa Clarita Valley, the Malibu coast and Hollywood Hills hard.

There is the potential for gusts of wind up to 60 mph, which is pretty hard, though not quite as hard as the last round. (This month's Windpocalypse was predicted to have gusts of up to 85 mph but some winds ended up reaching 97 mph.)

The winds are the dry kind that keep firefighters busy. Meteorologists predict the action will start Thursday night, calm down a little bit the next day and then start up again Friday night and last until Saturday afternoon.
