Ashton Kutcher Wins First 'Foot in Mouth Award' For His Exceptional Twitter Skills

Ashton Kutcher, king of the Twitter #fail, has received the first-ever "Foot in Mouth Award" for his infamous Joe Paterno tweet in November.

Kutcher, who outsourced his Twitter account post-shame, tweeted last month, "How do you fire Jo Pa? #insult #noclass as a hawkeye fan I find it in poor taste."

After learning of the Penn State child abuse scandal surrounding his beloved Paterno, Kutcher attempted to mitigate backlash with additional messages. He posted, "Heard Joe was fired, fully recant previous tweet! Didn’t have full story. #admitwhenYoumakemistakes” and "This is an insane story, I just heard paterno was fired, getting the rest of the story now... Wow." All tweets regarding the Paterno mess have since been deleted, but you can still see them - and a slew of comments - on Kutcher's Facebook page.

CelebTweets.com, in partnership with CelebGossip.com, have launched a new award series showcasing regrettable celebrity tweets. "The awards aim to encourage celebrities to think before they tweet," reports Mashable.

David Palma, Celeb Gossip Network’s spokesperson, said, "We chose Mr. Kutcher for our first award for two reasons. Firstly, he is often credited as being the first celebrity to fully embrace Twitter. Secondly, let’s be honest, he’s often said a lot of foolish things in his tweets. All of that weird stuff with Demi over the last few months doesn’t hurt either."

Noting that child abuse is nothing to joke about, Palma said the CelebGossip Network will donate $500 on Kutcher's behalf to the child abuse prevention charity of his choice.

Let's hope Kutcher's management team, who manages his Twitter account, will select an appropriate charity. We don't want him making another silly mistake on the heels of his esteemed award.
