Taylor Armstrong talked about her memoir of domestic violence, "Hiding from Reality: My Story of Love, Loss and Finding the Courage Within," after Monday night's episode of "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills." Now, she tells ABC News that she didn't feel safe coming forward about the alleged abuse she suffered at the hands of her late husband, Russell Armstrong, until after he committed suicide.

"I wish I would have been able to tell my story before now," Armstrong told ABC News. "But, until my husband Russell's suicide, I didn't feel safe to tell anyone for fear of my own safety and the safety of my daughter. With Russell's passing, I now feel safe to bring my story into the light, to help all battered and abused women, and men, and aid them in their struggle."

On a previous episode of Real Housewives, Camille Grammar detailed the abuse that Taylor claims to have suffered, including a broken jaw and being "beat up." Taylor told ABC News that she hopes her coming forward will help other women who are victims of domestic violence.

"From the bottom of my heart, I believe if my book can help others find the courage to deal with the pain and fear of their abusive relationships, I will have made a real difference in their lives," she said.

  •  I think people should prevent the home violence happening, because it is our fate to build family with our lover, so we should love each other and treasure our lives.

Courage would have been to show other women they could leave their abusive partners behind without them having to die first.

  • Shilling at its worst.
