Break out the bubbly! Metro is once again offering free rides on bus and rail lines operating on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve.

The free fare program will be in effect between the hours of 9 p.m. and 2 a.m. on the nights and early mornings hours of December 24-25 and December 31-January 1.

That means if you are out partying, shopping, working, or merry-making, you can hop on a Metro bus, or the Orange, Red, Purple, Blue, Green, or Gold lines can score the holiday gift of a free lift.

Metro says this is primarily about safety, so that people headed to holiday parties can leave the driving to them.

    Indeed.
Now if we could just get them to run a little later at night, like maybe to 1 a.m.,....

Nah, who'm I trying to kid?
    Never gonna happen.

I believe they do run later on Xmas/NYEs.

Just wish it was always like that, would head to Hollywood more often.
