A Pasadena man who has dabbled in local politics was arrested Tuesday afternoon for making death threats to people handling a city hotline after he spent six days without power following last week's windstorm.

73-year-old Geoffrey Commons took his show on the road, and showed up at the Pasadena City Manager's office, and "caused a disturbance," according to L.A. Now. He was subsequently arrested--something Commons admits in an interview with KTLA he did not think was going to happen.

Commons is familiar with the law, power companies, and city politics: He "is an attorney and former member of the California Energy Commission. In 1993, he ran unsuccessfully for a seat on the Pasadena Board of Education."

He explains that "he never made mention of guns or shooting anyone," according to KTLA. Commons describes what happened over the phone: "I threatened to get the girl on the phone for her job and she got angry at me. I don't own a gun, don't know how to shoot a gun, I've never had a gun in my life."

Commons said he was frustrated that no one seemed to "give a damn" that so many people were without power for so long.

By late Tuesday, Commons had already posted bond and was released from jail.

hes nuts, but i get his point.
its still a mess out here. trees down on EVERY street, selective power, and my next door neighbors powerlines have been down the entire time.
if youre late 7 days with your payment, theyll cut your power off quickly. but what happens if theyre late with the power theyre supposta be providing? hrmmm.
    windageddon is serious out here.

Just remember that they are working 24 hours though. It's not like they're not doing any work.

Though a few days ago they shifted their priorities for this guy for their safety. I heard the chainsaws as early as 4:30AM working around my neighborhood. And the workers I know were working extended shifts when this all went down last week.

You can get a refund for the days w/o service - but yeah, my area was so bad neighbors were stuck due to downed trees on both sides of their house - they couldn't move them, so they couldn't drive to work.

So THIS is the guy! I know a few people that were working on the lines and they were called to pull out of sections of Pasadena after they receive threats. I was told (by the workers) that the caller threatened to not only shoot workers from up in the trees, but then would commit suicide.

After that they moved to my area of Pasadena to continue working, which obviously sucks for this guy's area of Pasadena since it caused further delays.
