After a Glendale Mother Has a Heart-to-Heart with Her Sons About Penn State Molestation Scandal, She Finds Out That Her Sons' Babysitter Might Have Molested Them

gavel2.jpg A Glendale mother thought that the Jerry Sandusky molestation scandal at Penn State might provide a teachable moment for her children so she could warn them about the dangers of child molesters. It turns out that talk didn't come a moment too soon.

After that talk, her 8-year-old told her that he had been a molested just 11 days earlier. Police opened an investigation and found evidence that the boy's babysitter had sexually assaulted him and his 3-year-old brother, according to the Pasadena Star-News.

The boys' mother had never suspected their babysitter Jordan Liu of any inappropriate behavior, but Glendale police have now charged him with eight counts of child molestation. Liu has pleaded not guilty on all counts. The mother found Liu through a website Sittercity.com, and he babysat the boys for eight months. It's unknown how many other clients Liu had, but police haven't discovered any other victims. Sittercity said that they have closed his account and notified any possible clients.

"Sittercity was deeply saddened to learn of this situation," Sittercity spokeswoman Mary Schwartz said in a written statement to the Pasadena Star-News. "As soon as it was brought to our attention, we terminated Mr. Liu's account and notified anyone who may have had contact with him about the termination."

  • Sittercity.com FAIL!

Here's an idea you enabling idiots. When someone you promoted as a good caregiver turns out to be a criminal you should archive and submit ALL OF HIS INFO to the police — NOT the recycle bin on your server.

    SITTERCITY.com sucks until further notice.

Gonna hold off on judgment till actual evidence is revealed.

What if 8 year old is just agreeing to what his mom was saying, and nothing actually happened at all?

The power of talking to your kids.

  • I suspect you meant to write that the boys' mother never suspected any "Inappropriate"  - as written, you'd think she would've fired the sitter immediately.

Really curious as to what kind of evidence they found.
