Bloodhounds Search for Runaway Failed Scholar
Dogs rarely eat homework, but they do hunt for unscholarly little boys. An 11-year-old Laguna Niguel boy ran away from home on Monday night in fear of punishment for being a poor student.
The boy's parents reported their son missing around 5:30pm. When deputies were unable to locate the boy, they enlisted the help of bloodhounds and a helicopter.
A witness spotted the boy near Hidden Hills Elementary School after midnight and notified deputies. The school is located less than a half-mile from the boy's home.
Lt. Roland Chacon of the Orange County Sheriff's Department told The OC Register, "The boy eventually came out of an area where he had fallen asleep under some bushes."
Unharmed, the boy said that he walked away from his home because he thought he was in trouble for not doing his homework.
Chacon said there was no indication of abuse at home, according to L.A. Now.
