Metro & Metrolink Trimming Schedules on Thanksgiving

The hustle and bustle of Thanksgiving travel is clogging the roadways and airports, resulting in just a few hairs being ripped from just a few scalps. If public transportation is a viable option for your holiday travels, you may want to consider hopping on a bus or train. Be warned, Metro and Metrolink are operating on abbreviated schedules starting tomorrow and throughout the weekend.

Metro buses and trains, including the Red, Purple, Blue, Green and Gold Lines trains, will run on a Sunday/Holiday schedule on Thanksgiving Day (November 24).

All lines will operate EXCEPT Lines 126, 127, 128, 154, 175, 176, 177, 202, 209, 211, 220, 237, 239, 242, 243, 244, 247, 254, 258, 270, 290, 439, 442, 485, 489, 577X, 607, 620, 625, 634, 645, 685, 705, 710, 728, 730, 734, 740, 741, 750, 751, 757, 760, 762, 770, 780, 794.

Metrolink is offering a Weekend Pass for unlimited travel between November 24 and November 27 for just $10. Commuters can purchase the pass by visiting any TVM at any Metrolink station, select “Special Ticket Options” and then “$10 Weekend Pass.” Up to three children aged five or younger can ride free with any valid adult ticket this Thursday through Sunday as part of the promotion.

Metrolink trains will operate on a modified schedule on Thanksgiving Day on the San Bernardino and Antelope Valley lines.

*Antelope Valley Line - regular Sunday schedule. Three round-trips offered.
*San Bernardino Line - regular Sunday schedule. Seven round-trips offered.

On Friday, trains will resume the normal weekday schedule. The regular weekend schedule will be followed for all San Bernardino, Antelope Valley, Inland Empire-Orange County and Orange County lines.

Rail 2 Rail has issued blackout dates on Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday. No Metrolink Monthly Passes will be accepted on Amtrak Pacific Surfliner trains on these blackout dates.
