Morrissey Fans Occupy Hollywood Blvd. For Tickets to Rare, Last Minute Concert
Monday afternoon, local devotees of melancholic British alt-rock icon Morrissey learned their mighty Moz was adding a last minute, intimate Ticketmasterless concert Wednesday night at the Henry Fonda/Music Box Theatre. With strict rules regarding ticketing--cash only, 2-per-person limit, at venue box office only--fans lined the street outside the Fonda as the noon on-sale time approached.
Naturally, the timing is rife with comparison to the prolific cropping-up of "campsites" in urban centers these days. Writer Jessica Ritz (@TasterTotsLA) quipped on Twitter this morning: "If Occupy Hollywood ever wanted to take root, #Morrissey fans waiting now at Music Box for tomorrow night's show are giving them a start."
Good luck, occupiers fans.
