Smoke Shop Owner Shot & Killed Robber During Sunday Heist

The owner of Smoke 'N' Gifts, a South Robertson smoke shop, defended his business on Sunday night, shooting two armed robbers. One of the suspects has died from his injuries.

When as many as six male suspects attempted to rob the store around 9pm, the owner fired at the men with his own weapon, striking two of them. It is unclear whether or not the suspects fired any shots during the incident.

The suspects-turned-victims were taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. The surviving man suffered a gunshot wound to the head and is listed in critical condition. Police arrested three suspects at the scene and believe another man is still at large.

After the shooting, the owner was questioned by police. He was later released and has not been arrested. The incident remains under investigation.

I'll bet my life that the dead thief's family is gonna file a lawsuit against the store owner for wrongful death and most likely win.
