Thanks for tossing that monkey wrench into our weekend plans, Pacific storm. L.A. should expect moderate to heavy rain starting early Sunday morning, and local mountain regions should prepare for snow.

The National Weather Service predicts a 30% chance of rain, mainly after 4am on Sunday. The chance of precipitation increases to 80% late on Sunday, with possible thunderstorms after 4pm. And it's going to keep on coming down through Sunday night and early Monday morning with a 90% chance of showers after 10pm. But we need it, right, Los Angeles?

Rainfall amounts will range from one-third of an inch to 1 inch in most areas.

L.A. Now reported that the storm will bring snowfall to the mountain regions, hitting areas between 4,500 and 5,500 feet and could affect travel on the Interstate 5 across the grapevine, most notably on Sunday afternoon and into the evening.

The sun will come out by early Monday.
