Fire Chief Brian Cummings is Doing Community Service to Make Amends for LAFD Porn Scandal

You may recall that LAFD was recently embroiled in a scandal involving a porn actress who posed naked on a fire truck. It was scandalous in no small part because no one is supposed to have unsupervised access to fire trucks, and then there was the porn piece of it, which as we now know turns any event into a reason to riot.

Once the scandal hit the news, Fire Chief Brian Cummings decided to demonstrate his contrition by imposing 120 hours of community service of himself. Cummings wasn't involved with the incident, but admitted without prompting that he had let a different half-naked lady take pictures with a fire truck several years ago.

How often does this kind of thing happen?

Anyway, Cummings began his community service at the Downtown Women's Center (yes, the same one briefly blessed by the presence of LiLo, and yes, in order to prove his devotion to women in need) in October, and NBC Los Angeles has an update on how it's going.

He's been working in the kitchen, he says, cooking meals for women who live there. "It's humbling," he said. "Accountability starts with me."
