The storefronts of four Sherman Oaks and Van Nuys businesses were covered in shattered glass on Monday night after vandals targeted Ventura Boulevard and Sherman Way. Police received the first call at 9:05pm and discovered vandalism at The Lover Thai-Chinese Restaurant, Leeds Mattress Store, Rodeo Realty and Mirage Fine Home Furnishings.

The vandals apparently had no intent of stealing from the businesses. They seemingly needed to engage in a target practice spree. KTLA reports that police believe either a slingshot or a BB gun was used to smash the storefront windows, while L.A. Now reports either a marble or pellet gun as the weapon.

Yesterday afternoon, according to ABC7, six businesses were targeted on Van Nuys Boulevard in Pacoima, Foothill Boulevard in Lakeview Terrace and Lankershim Boulevard in Sun Valley. The weapons in question? A pellet gun or a paintball gun.

There is no pattern to the targeted businesses, zero items were stolen and no one was injured. All businesses were closed at the time of the incidents on Monday night.

An investigation is underway.
