Pit Bulls Slaughter 40 Goats in Lake Los Angeles

Three pit bulls attacked a corral of goats on Monday afternoon in Lake Los Angeles, killing about 40 of the innocent animals.

The mauling occurred around 4:30pm in the high desert community, and authorities are unable to locate the dogs' owner or determine if the animals are strays. Deputies from the sheriff's Lancaster Station discovered the dead pets near West 164th Street East and Avenue Q. The dogs had disappeared by the time officials arrived.

As of Tuesday morning, Sheriff's Lt. E. Stewart did not know whether or not the dogs had been captured.

  • Lots of people abandon their pets with their homes in Lake LA, that's why I have rescued 7 dogs in the last couple of years.

the pitbull is a dog  that is the most willing to please breed out of all the dogs I have dealt with.
Therefore if a pitbull has a loving owner, it will be one of the most loving dogs ever, hence the nanny  dog. On the other hand, if the pitbull is taught to fight or be aggressive to another human being, it will do its upmost to please its owner which is why this breed is great as long as its in the right hands, blame the owner on all accounts.

  • Nice video!

Well when I hear that a pack of Labradors killed 40 goats I'll go with the owner theory.  Bottom line, this breed reacts differently to abuse by owners than most other breeds.  And they are much more capable of killing than "soft-mouthed" dogs.  So while any dog is capable of biting, only a few will go in for the kill.

  • Your ignorance saddens me. A few months ago at the dog park in Venice, three golden retrievers mauled and killed two pit bulls minding their business. Where is the witch hunt for golden retrievers?

Oh cmon BoulderBay, we can't blame these innocent pitbulls. They didn't know what they were doing. We should continue to breed them.

On a side note, can anyone imagine how long this would have taken? 40 goats is no joke. I am thinking this was at least an hour of absolute carnage.

Guys guys, remember - it's the owners, not the dogs!

  • Yes, yes! Don't blame the dogs for doing what dogs do. That said, this is really sad.
