'Ultimate Party Crasher' Sneaks Into Private Concert, Robert Plant Approves

You know how when you live in the Palisades, your neighbors are always throwing these swank fundraiser yard parties complete with big-name superhella megafamous rock stars providing the entertainment? If you've ever wanted to just fence hop or gate crash such a shindig, the story of how one Angeleno did just that when Roger Daltrey, Robert Plant and Dave Grohl rocked a neighbor's yard may be inspiring.

Blogger Tara's Take nicknamed the surprise concert-goer the "ultimate party crasher." It's a friend of her husband, and he offered her his narrative (we're quoting as-is, so there are some typos):

I came home from dinner with my wife and heard ”Who are you” coming from a neighbors yard. We laughed that it sounded just like Roger Daltry….then a few minutes later we heard Dave Grohl do a 45 min solo acoustic set.

I could not resist going over there when I heard the unmistakeable voice of Robert Plant playing Zeppelin songs. I grabbed my flip video camera and tried to crash the party. Security was tight, but you could see the stage from the street about 20 feet away. I tried the side entrance and then the back entrance-it was not happening. When I went to the front entrance again I saw my friend coming out of the show, he handed me a wristband and I WAS IN!

Okay, so it helps to have an operative on the inside. Still!

Of course, given the proximity to the rock giant, the "party crasher" couldn't resist the chance to say hello:

When the show was over, I walked back stage and met Robert Plant. I asked him to sign the lyrics from Black Dog (that I took from the stage).

As he was signing it, I said, ”Hey Robert, I just want you to know that I am a neighbor and I crashed this party tonight!”

He said with a smile, ”Thats Excellent!”

He then shook my hand and that was it. Pretty cool huh?

Yeah, that's pretty cool. He took the video of one of the songs, and is giving the Teenage Cancer Fund, for whom the event was held, a donation, even though he wasn't on the guest list. And that's really cool.
