Sorry, Low Profile Lovebirds: L.A. County Clerk Not Doing Any 11/11/11 Weddings
It's a once in a lifetime date, and while many couple have long planned for the auspicious 11/11/11 wedding date, the Los Angeles County clerk's office affirms there won't be any knot-tying at their offices tomorrow.
Why? It's Veterans Day, and local government offices are closed in observance of the holiday, including the L.A. County Clerk.
Of course, it's hard to do a last-minute wedding in L.A., and there is always Vegas. More options, per L.A. Now:
Couples can get married “at other agencies that are open if they have gotten their license already,” said Marcia Ventura, a spokeswoman for the L.A. County Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk. “Usually we take them by appointment anyway, so we would have told them that we’re not open.”
Hey, there's always 12/12/12 to start planning for.
