Mountain Lion Hangs Out in Burbank Backyard While Residents Watch TV
While tigers have been MIA in L.A., mountain lions and bears have been surprising residents quite frequently. Two Burbank women discovered one of the wild cats enjoying their backyard on Wednesday afternoon.
Mae Rondinella and her daughter, Linda, were watching television around 2:30pm when the visitor walked past their window. Linda initially thought the animal was just another deer.
"It was beautiful at first, but then, oh my gosh, it's scary!" Mae said, reports KTLA. The two had a quick photo shoot with the giant cat before fear swallowed their creative spirit.
The ladies called the police, who said the spotting is the fourth in Burbank since August.
The mountain lion eventually meandered to a flagpole high above the house for a rest.

In other wildlife spotting news, a 500-pound bear toured Glendale, unincorporated L.A. County and the city of L.A. on Wednesday night.
