Amoeba Hollywood Turns 10: KCRW Will Broadcast Live From the Store Saturday

Happy 10th Birthday, Amoeba Hollywood! The big little music store that could is celebrating a milestone, and this weekend, the party is courtesy KCRW, who will be undertaking a first endeavor, and broadcasting live from the store all day on Saturday, November 12.

Four of the station's top DJs will be on deck from noon to 10 p.m. for 10 hours of music in honor of Amoeba's 10th birthday. Plus, during the day, the DJs will be giving out goodies, including Amoeba gift certificates.

The lineup:
Chris Douridas (noon-2p)
Anne Litt (2-5p)
Liza Richardson (6-8p)
Henry Rollins (8-10p)

It's totally free to head to the store and listen live. Of course, you can listen to it live on the radio, too...but that won't be as fun!

Why does this wretched phony independent record store get so much love from L.A.?! It's just a tourist trap! When they opened ten years ago they killed every mom and pop used cd and record shop in Hollywood. Im upset that kcrw is supporting them like this.

"phony independent"? just because it's a large store doesn't mean it's any less independent than those mom and pop stores you're talking about.
