Making Banks Pay, Rallies & Marches Slated This Week in Cali
On the heels of National Bank Transfer Day, more than 10,000 college and university students, in conjunction with the ReFund California Coalition, will keep the heat on big banks. Rallies and marches are slated at 13 California college campuses this week to make banks pay to end cuts to higher education.
Per today's media advisory, below are listings for related events on November 8 and 9.
NOVEMBER 8
Fresno State - 12pm, Free Speech Area
Students, workers and community workers rally to defend education at Fresno State.

Students, workers and community members will march and rally to make banks pay their fair share to fix the economic crisis they created.

UC Berkeley - 12pm, Sproul Plaza (march to Bank of America)
Students, parents, teachers and workers will rally on Sproul Plaza before marching on nearby Bank of America. The coalition will call on UC Regent and Bank of America Director Monica Lozano to sign the ReFund California Pledge to make Wall Street pay for end cuts to public education.

UC Santa Cruz - 12-4pm, Clock Tower
Students, parents, teachers and workers will walk out and gather at Quarry Plaza at noon. The coalition will then move to the base of campus at 2pm before marching on banks in downtown Santa Cruz at 4pm where they will call on UC Regent and Bank of America Director Monica Lozano to sign the ReFund California Pledge to make Wall Street pay for public education.

UC Santa Barbara - 12pm, Storke Hall (march to rally at the Arbor at 12:20pm)
UCSB students and workers will march from Storke Hall to the Arbor starting at noon and will rally at the Arbor to protest Wall Street's role in the economic crisis that has caused astronomical tuition increases, bigger classes, job losses, and pay and benefits cuts. Speakers will include professors, students, workers and labor leaders.
