This weekend begs you to get out and head to Angeles National Forest, Angelenos. Veterans Day falls on Friday, November 11, and in honor of those who have served and who currently serve our country, the normally required National Forest Adventure Pass will be waived.
"Fee Free" weekend begins on Veterans Day and lasts through Sunday, November 13.
“In honor of our nation’s veterans, we would like to encourage people to use this fee free weekend to get outdoors and enjoy the wonderful recreational opportunities in the Angeles National Forest,” said Thomas A. Contreras, supervisor of the Angeles, per today's news release.
Campground, reservation, group-site and concession fees may still be in effect. But if you're in need of an outdoor stroll and a heavy dose of fresh air (you probably are), leave your wallet (and stress) at home.
"Fee Free" days support President Obama’s America’s Great Outdoors initiative and First Lady Michelle Obama’s Let’s Move Outside by encouraging the public to embrace the great outdoors. A recent "Fee Free" day was granted in September on National Public Lands Day.
