Pets of the Week: Precious & Luna

I am simply Precious! Photo courtesy of Downtown Dog Rescue.

Two years ago American Pit bull Terrier mix, Precious came to Downtown Dog Rescue after surviving animal cruelty, where she was chained 24 hours a day to a tree with no shelter and a minimal amount food or water. She was shut down, weighing 1/3 or her normal body weight, missing a toe and part of her ear, and she seemed pretty hopeless. Fast-forward four months later, Precious is in one of the Downtown Dog Rescue play groups where she learned how to play like a dog and be social with other dogs. She is currently being fostered in a home with multiple dogs, is leashed-trained, crate-trained, goes to work with her foster parent everyday to further increase her social skills with people and other dogs of all sizes. She is excellent at meeting new people including small children. The ideal home for Precious would be one that has a dominant male, like the Downtown Dog Rescue mascot Clancy, who is her favorite dog. In our pack, she is the most dominant, balanced female who can tolerate bad play behavior, walking away from play that gets too wild. She has been spayed, is current on all vaccinations, has been micro-chipped and has been ready for her forever home for over a year now. If you would like to meet Precious or learn more about her, please contact Lori at loriweise@gmail.com or call 818-407-4145. Downtown Dog Rescue would prefer to place Precious in the Southern California area.

My name is a Luna and I am a beautiful black and white 5-year-old female currently residing at the spcaLA P.D. Pitchford Companion Animal
Village & Education Center
. I'm a super nice girl looking for a home to call my own. Like many cats, I'm a little shy at first, but it doesn't take me long to warm up to new people. I am sweet and affectionate, and love attention. Please come by and visit me!
