November is here. And you know what that means. Gents across the globe will lock away their razors and focus all of their testosterone on sprouting unshorn upper lips. It's Movember, and it's all about the 'stache.

The Movember campaign initiates mustache season every year, where men, known as Mo Bros, worldwide let their facial hair grow free to raise awareness and funds for men's health. Focusing on prostate cancer and other cancers affecting men, Movember excels in "changing the face of men's health," per the website. We get a little extra excited about the month-long challenge since the non-profit is based in Venice, CA.

This year's growth has already begun, but it's not too late to enter. Participants can still register on the website and commence manly cultivation. For the rest of the month, determined Mo Bros will "groom, trim and wax their way into the annals of fine moustachery," says the website. Funds are raised via sponsorship, and Mo Bros are responsible for not just a fancy fecund face, but for wrangling support.

The United Kingdom currently boasts the most registrations at 169,773, but Canada has raised the most funds so far at a whopping $5,042,213. The U.S. lags behind at 93,242 registrants and $1,762,300 total monies raised. Numbers are increasing constantly. Let's get growing, America!

After 30 days of mustache making, Mo Bros celebrate their flourishing achievements by attending one of the infamous Gala Partés or by throwing their own 'stache bash.

Tonight at 9pm, The Spare Room in Hollywood presents a Movember benefit to help kick off 'stache season. Offering a special Mo Cocktail, the bar will donate proceeds from its sale to the campaign as well as funds raised via the bar's photo booth. Actress/Mo Sista Malin Akerman will host tonight's shindig, Tim Nordwin of OK Go and Pyyramids is DJing and Warpaint is slated to perform live.

Refer to the event page for upcoming partés, parties and other mustachioed happenings.

Happy growing, men!
