The Conrad Murray involuntary manslaughter trial came to a brief halt today when a nurse who treated Michael Jackson fell ill while testifying.

As defense attorney Ed Chernoff prepared to resume questions from Monday afternoon, the witness, Cherilyn Lee, announced, "I'm feeling really, really dizzy," reports KTLA. Lee added, "This is just very sensitive to me." She was briefly dismissed but later returned to testify.

Lee's unfortunate episode added to Tuesday's setbacks. Testimony was delayed 45 minutes due to a rainstorm as well as Obamajam. Jurors arrived late due to the extra heavy traffic.

Murray's defense aims to prove that Jackson was a drug addict desperate for his "fix," says KTLA. The defense began its case on Monday after four weeks of dramatic, damaging testimony by 33 prosecution witnesses. Prosecutors rested their case on Monday. The defense expects to rest this Thursday.

The defense's first witness on Monday was a Beverly Hills police official who detailed the 911 call made from Jackson's residence on the day of his death.
