Autistic Boy Wanders Out of Airport Alone, Search Underway

bob-hope-airport.jpg A 14-year-old autistic boy is missing after he deplaned a delayed flight at Bob Hope Airport. The minor was taken to the airport by his parents, and had been successfully boarded as an unaccompanied minor on his Delta flight this morning.

Mechanical problems forced the flight's delay, and the passengers deplaned at around 10:30 a.m.

"The unaccompanied minor wandered out of the airport and boarded a parking lot shuttle," explains airport spokesman Victor Gill, according to NBC Los Angeles."He was last seen exiting the shuttle alone near the intersection of Hollywood Way and Thornton Avenue."

The child is Caucasian, brown hair, 5 feet 5 inches tall, and weighs about 115 pounds. "He was last seen wearing a yellow sweatshirt with the initials 'C.S.' on it, brown loafers with no socks, blue jeans, a silver band ring and a silver chain necklace."
