North Hollywood Man Arrested for 'Child Annoying,' AKA Public Masturbation & Indecent Exposure

Roderico Arael Lopez, 28, was arrested on Tuesday for multiple accounts of offenses related to "child annoying." What constitutes as annoying a child? According to a LAPD news release, exposing oneself and masturbating in public do.

In a total of eleven reports over the past few months, Lopez cruised the San Fernando Valley in his red van in search of young girls walking to school. He drove to various elementary and high schools and would flag the girls' attention. Lopez would proceed to expose himself and masturbate while seated in his van. Gosh, how annoying.

LAPD Foothill Division detectives are investigating possible additional victims and urge anyone with information about the case to call Foothill Area Detective Monica McPartland at 818-834-3115. The case will go before the L.A. City Attorney's Office on Thursday for multiple accounts of child annoying, indecent exposure and lewd conduct. Lopez is currently being held on $20,000 bail and has been hit with an immigration hold.

A resident of North Hollywood, Lopez is 5'6", weighs 160 pounds and wears his hair short and combed to the side.
