Conrad Murray's Trial Resumes, Expert Testifies that Michael Jackson Could Have Been Saved
The involuntary manslaughter trial of Conrad Murray started back up again today, after a couple of delays earlier in the week.
ABC News reports that a session on Monday had been cancelled because the father of Dr. Steven Shafer, an expert anesthesiologist who was the prosecution's last witness, passed away. It was then delayed again, notes CNN, because the defense needed time to study new lab tests. Prior to that,
Shafer testified today, and told the court that Michael Jackson could possibly have been saved by simply tilting his chin back.
"Michael Jackson was trying to breathe, but the tongue had fallen in the back of the throat," Shafer said. "Either a simple chin lift, just that alone, or an oral airway to move the tongue out of the way might well have been all that was required to save his life."
