LAUSD Condemns Sub Who Called out Banking's 'Zionist Jews' During Interview at Occupy L.A.

Although today is the day Occupy LAUSD heads to the Los Angeles Unified School District's headquarters to begin their "occupation," there have been many people affiliated with the district participating in the original Occupy L.A. encampment and protests. One such participant, substitute teacher Patricia McAllister, has come under fire for remarks captured during a video interview from the City Hall Occupy L.A. site.

In her ReasonTV interview, McAllister singles out the "Zionist Jews" who she says run the nation's banks, and calls for their removal from America.

McAllister says:

"the Zionist Jews who are running these big banks and the Federal Reserve, which is not run by the Federal Government, they need to be run out of this country.”

The clip of McAllister speaking to ReasonTV made the rounds online this week, and in comment threads and message boards McAllister was taken to task for her controversial statement.

Today, LAUSD Superintendent John Deasy has issued a statement of response about McAllister's remarks, concluding that her professional relationship with the LAUSD has been severed by the district.

Here is Deasy's statement in full:

As Superintendent of the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD), I want to emphasize that we condemn the remarks made recently by Patricia McAllister.

Her comments, made during non-work time at a recent protest rally, were her private opinions and were not made in the context of District services. At LAUSD, we recognize that the law is very protective of the freedom of speech rights of public employees when they are speaking as private citizens during non-working time.

I further emphasize to our students, who watch us and look to us for guidance, to be role models and to represent the ideals by which LAUSD lives, that we will never stand for behavior that is disrespectful, intolerant or discriminatory.

As a day-to-day substitute teacher, Ms. McAllister was an at-will employee. As of today, she is no longer an employee of the LAUSD.

In an opinion piece published October 14 in the Jewish Journal, MJ Rosenberg says that opponents of the Occupy movement are embracing the notion of anti-Semitism in order to illustrate the movement is racist and tainted:

An ugly old tradition is back: exploiting anti-Semitism to break the backs of popular movements that threaten the power of the wealthiest 1 percent of our population. It is being used to undermine the Occupy Wall Street movement, which has conservatives in a state of near panic.

[...]

Because utilizing anti-Semitism directly would not succeed in this country today, the reactionary defenders of the economic status quo are using the flip side of the coin: the fear of being labeled anti-Semitic. They are accusing Occupy Wall Street of anti-Semitism, relying on the old myth that Wall Street is Jewish and hence that opposition to Wall Street’s agenda is just opposition to Jews.

Strange, but the majority of Americans feel that this "special treatment" should be dispensed to all "Afro-Americans" (a.k.a. Blacks - from Black WAS Beautiful movement) that are uggly and fat, like  McAllister. Strange but true.

  • As a Jewish person, I support the statement she made because it is the TRUTH.  The Zionist bankers control our countries and are the root of the problem! They were behind '911' attacks and have financed all sides of every war for over 200 years.  Google "rothschild zionism" to learn the truth.  Watch www.911missinglinks.com to know the truth.  As a Jewish person, I'm sick and tired of the Zionist criminals hiding behind our ethnicity.  The NWO is controlled by the Zionists, but they going to be brought to justice when the revolution is complete.  Israel is a ZIONIST state not a Jewish state.  The House of Rothschild created the Zionists state to foment WW-III, which is now happening.  These Zionists Jews are not "Semitic", so if you want to insult someone for exposing the truth about them you should call them "anti-Ashkenazi".  I'm so sick of the lies!!!!

If you are sick of lies, why do you lie to us all "David"? Is it because you have some emotional problem that is still unresolved? Medicine helps and therapy too. Try them both. Or maybe because you simply enjoy impersonating a Jew when in fact you are a mere Christian antisemite or a Muslim version thereof - both full of envy. At any rate, having a MENTAL FIT ON LINE is not nice.

i wish LAUSD would focus on actually teaching its children and raising poor test scores rather than this stupid shit. prioritize.

OK, OK... let's look at what she actually said.  Did she say "All Jewish People" ?  No, no she didn't, however she specifically invoked the use of the word Zionist.  What this lady said can only be described as Anti-Zionist, Anti-Banking and Anti-Federal Reserve.  Unfortunately you can't say she is an Anti-Semite for her comment.

It would be akin to someone saying Hamas  is to blame for Political Turmoil in the middle east - and labeling that person Anti-Muslim.  The Point being Hamas advocates for sovereignty of the Palestinian people in the land disputed by Israel.

More to the point we should be asking why she feels like she needs to label the heads of Major Banks as Zionist. Are all the heads of major banks and is the head of the Fed Jewish?  is this a closed loop of musical chairs that helped lead us to the Financial Meltdown????

  • The hypocrisy of the libtards is ever-present.  I saw the LA protest - the community organizers, utilizing the age-old practices of the socialist deception had enticed a few thousand homeless with a free sandwich, to increase their numbers and make them seem relevant.  No, the Right is not threatened - but all the people working in the downtown LA had one thing on their lips - go look for work, you worthless, smelly, repugnant pieces of...   Socialism, as a societal experiment had miserably failed in USSR, Cuba, Laos, etc - and it is failing in those hybrid societies.  Those dumb enough to not know history are going to try to repeat it.  And all of this is the doing of the "master community organizer" - one Barry Soetero...  Enjoy the change - you voted for him!!!

psychotic delusional imperialistic idiot white man answer.

  • "Those dumb enough to not know history are going to try to repeat it. "

Like The Great Depression, which was caused by too much money and resources in the hands of too few people?

Oh and here is a good video to watch when the right wingers start calling the Occupy movement anti-semitic...

  • It's hard to believe there are still people around who believe that tripe about; "the Jews control all the money" if that were true I have to wonder why my mother never got any of it.

These are the faces and stories of the 99%. Show the world the 99% is not a bunch of “flea baggers” as the right would like everyone to believe..http://wearethe99percent.tumblr.com/
We’re all in this together. Stand up and be proud and be counted.

Today is the day they [...] being their "occupation?"

    Write drunk; edit sober. --E.H.

  • Fired for a dumb comment she made off the clock? What the hell kind of society do we live in where this is acceptable? The LAUSD should only be allowed to take action against McAllister if she made those silly remarks while substitute teaching.

  • lfnfrtank

who needs her around our kids, with that filthy mouth,i for one am happy she will no longer be in our cities classrooms...

  • HymietownHero

A school district is tasked with ensuring that pupils are educated in a comfortable and welcoming environment. There are Jewish children who attend public schools. Now that Ms. McAllister has aired her views publicly, why would any student, Jewish or otherwise, feel comfortable with her in a position of authority over them?

If a teacher remarked that Mexicans are the scourge of society and should be run out of the country, the district's reaction would be equally measured and equally just.

This woman is free to seek employment elsewhere.

  • Ms. McAllister was an at-will employee.

Had she not invoked the name of the LAUSD I suspect this anti-semite would still be employed ...giving her the financial freedom to continue showing up a events like this to spread her diverse message of hate.
