Hotel Bel-Air To Open Today, May Be Picketed by Occupy LA

The legendary Hotel Bel-Air is set to open today, although things might not go as smoothly as planned.

The hotel, which has provided respite for weary celebs including Grace Kelly, Britney Spears and Nicole Kidman, has been closed for renovations for two years. USA Today reports that upon reopening, rooms will start at $565 a day, and according to the Huffington Post, rates will go as high as $13,500 per night for the Presidential Suite.

But earlier this week, L.A. Now reported that union organizers called upon Occupy LA to help them picket the hotel, after over 200 unionized workers were let go.

I suppose we're about to see how the rich and famous handle the 99%.
