Live & Unplugged from Union Station, Soft Pipes Goes Guerrilla
L.A. Union Station is an architectural wonder, combining Dutch Colonial Revival, Mission Revival and Streamline Moderne styles. Built in 1939, this transportation hub is known as "Last of the Great Railway Stations" in the U.S. Doesn't it sound like an ideal spot for a music video?
Soft Pipes - the new solo indie musical project of L.A.-based Anthony Polcino, guitarist of Low Vs. Diamond - recently shot an acoustic performance of his new single, "Stay Pretty," at the station. Live and unplugged, the act showcases the magic of guerrilla video and is showcased in today's video lunch.
"I honestly didn’t think we’d be able to pull this one off as there were rumors that morning of a bomb scare somewhere downtown," said Gorilla Acoustic, who produced the video.

Polcino shared why he's so smitten by Union Station in an interview with Gorilla Acoustic.
I've found the history of Los Angeles to be a very alluring subject since I moved here in 2005, and Union Station is one of the older buildings in the sometimes forgotten Downtown area. The Architecture is really ornate and I knew it would look great on camera, and of course it has naturally great acoustics and reverberance that goes well with my sound. Also, I knew it'd be a place where people are coming and going, life is moving, the real world is happening, and there are people there who would never care about me or what I'm doing musically. It really takes it out of the studio, the bedroom, or the controlled live concert atmosphere and puts it into reality. I looked at it like a metaphor for me and what I'm doing. I'm just one guy, making my own little noise in a giant place where people have their own agendas and places to be. If you want to stop by and listen, feel free to do so.
Soft Pipes self-released the "Stay Pretty" EP on September 27 and has been regularly gracing the L.A. music circuit.
