100 Cocks & Meth Lab Seized During Lancaster Raid

A cockfighting raid at a home just north of Lancaster on Wednesday resulted in the arrests of six people and the seizure of approximately 100 cocks. Four men and two women were detained in the rooster raid.

The raid occurred around 6am in the 46200 block of 30th Street East. Seven children, ages 4 to 17, were taken into protective custody by deputies from the sheriff's Lancaster Station.

Also seized were a large amount of methamphetamine and items used to manufacture the drug. Performance-enhancing drugs given to the roosters, sparring muffs used in training, a scale to weigh the birds plus a large number of cages were also taken from the home.

The cocks are valued at between $1,000 and $10,000 each. Some of the injured animals were thrown in the trash, despite still being alive.

Names of the suspects and the charges against them have yet to be released.

I think the cocaine eating baby from Atascadero still beats Lancaster on this one. Cockfighting/Meth - not surprising in Lancaster/Palmdale/Lake LA.
