Will Arnett Confirms 'Arrested Development' Season 4 on Conan
We're always a bit hesitant to believe rumors that "Arrested Development" will hit the big screen and also return to television for one more season. But when Will Arnett confirms said rumors, our minds settle and all is right with the world. Arnett confirmed the film's production in Marc Maron's "WTF" podcast on July 11. And last night he nodded his head when asked about the new season.
After some playful banter, Conan moves right into the subject that has fans across the nation rejoicing. "Let's talk about 'Arrested Development'," says Conan. The crowd roars. Conan continues. "'Arrested Development' - coming back. You guys are gonna make more."
"Yeah," confirms Arnett, nodding. "I'm in for a five-figure payday on that one," he says.
"Wow, that seems completely unrealistic," says Conan.
"I'm doin' OK," says Arnett.
Per usual, Arnett quickly strays from the conversation, building suspense, killing us softly. After some talk about gingers and a show about murder, they move into a discussion about Arnett and Jason Bateman's production company, Dumb Dumb. And they never return to the real matter at hand. But we feel Arnett's "Yeah" and nodding is clarification enough. Splendid.
