The FBI has made an arrest in Operation Hackerazzi, the investigation of celebrity phone hacking in Hollywood. Officials have scheduled a news conference later Wednesday morning to release additional information.

The break in the case comes several weeks after reports that the cellphone accounts of stars, including the outraged Scarlett Johansson, were hacked. Nude photos of Johansson were retrieved from her phone by the hacker and leaked to the Internet. The photos spread like wild fire, and the actress enlisted the help of the FBI.

While the FBI did not name names of the victims, reports say that more than 50 female celebrities had their cellphones and emails hacked. TMZ reported that Miley Cyrus, Jessica Alba, Demi Lovato, Ali Larter, Christina Aguilera and Vanessa Hudgens were all victims of the hacking ring.

Allegations of celebrity phone hacking date back to late 2010. The federal probe began when these reports first surfaced, prior to the more recent media frenzy.

God bless that good hacker. God bless

Does it bother anyone else that these people are upset because they took naked pics of themselves on a device that could be hacked?

Meaning, if they just took them with a digital camera, this wouldn't happen - at least until they email it out to someone, then it's fair game again. Bottom line, if you don't want naked pics of yourself on the internet...don't take naked pics of yourself.

  • It might be good practice, but it hardly excuses the act. Just like one should lock their door, but it's not okay to steal their stuff when they don't.

Yes, it's not okay, but you still need to mitigate your damages - like not having nude pics of yourself...unless you get paid for that.

  • and now we wait for the time sensitive password to expire and the rest of the goods to hit the web....
