This morning a serial killer who has already been convicted of three murders in Illinois was extradited to California. He will appear before a judge in Orange County to answer for the deaths of five women in Southern California, including the violent slaying of a Saddleback College student, according to the Orange County Register.

The killer Andrew Urdiales, 47, who dodged the death penalty in Illinois where it was recently outlawed, could face the death penalty here for murders that took place in the 1980s and 1990s.

After Urdiales was captured and captured for three murders in Illinois, he confessed to the murders of the Saddleback student Robbin Brandley, killed in 1986, as well as four prostitutes — three from Riverside county and one from San Diego County. Urdiales had been a Marine stationed at Camp Pendleton and other local military facilities from April 1984 through April 1991.
