Pets of the Week: Muffin & Freckles
Just one day for the Muffin? Photo by spcaLA.
October is National Adopt a Shelter Pet Month. October is also the month of National Cat Day (October 29th). Do you think the cats are angry they only get one day?
To celebrate the doggies and the kitties, spcaLA is offering free microchip registration for pets adopted during the month of October, plus all adopters receive a free gift. spcaLA not only offers adoptions, but the 134-year-old animal welfare organization also serves the community by offering animal cruelty investigations, youth violence prevention programs, and spay/neuter services.
Muffin is a one-year-old petite female Tabby (#11-03965) who came to spcaLA as a stray in June. She is a very sweet girl who gets along with the other cats very well. Muffin loves treats and is very motivated by food. The spcaLA Animal Trainers have been working on cat-clicker training with her, teaching her tricks like "sit," "stand," and "high-five." Yes, you CAN train a cat (ok, some)! Muffin would be a great cat for a first-time owner or family, as she is great with kids. She loves to sit in the windowsill and soak up the sun. spcaLA has a promotion until the end of October called Experience Counts. Adopt a cat like Muffin, one year older, and receive $25 of the adoption fee.
