One, two, Freddy's coming for you. Oh, wait, you're safe. He's been captured. An animatronic statue of "Nightmare on Elm Street's" Freddy Krueger was swiped from its post in front of Insurance 4 Less on Third Avenue in downtown Chula Vista on Wednesday, said police on Friday. The connection between Krueger and insurance eludes us, but hey, whatever works.

Freddy's scarred head escaped the heist. Its horrifying burn scars could possibly deter investigators or at least give them nightmares. “Freddy’s head fell off during the theft, but his body was still outstanding,” said police Lt. Scott Arsenault, according to Sign On San Diego.

The statue's value, even sans head, is roughly $375.

Witnesses identified the bandits as two teenagers driving a GMC Suburban. They did not leave a ransom note.
