LAX Has A New Facebook Page — Will You 'Like' It?

Sometimes the language of Facebook struggles to accurately describe our relationships — and that's certainly a dilemma posed by LAX's revamped Facebook page. You may not "like" LAX, but you might appreciate the page if you're a frequent flier, a Facebook check-in junkie or you want to know why those trippy pylons outside the airport were purple (it was Alzheimer's Action Day).

LAX launched the new page this week, which combined two earlier "fan" pages. A statement from the airport promises that "fans and followers can now check-in, receive up-to-the-minute information on airport conditions, videos, photos, flight delay, travel-related news, and much more."

But don't expect too much from the relationship. The page might let you know about typhoons messing with flights headed across the Pacific, but you should still check with your airline for specific flight info. The airport also has a Twitter feed.
