Pervy Pianist Plans Sexual Relations With 11-Year-Old Girl
Joseph Lee Hedderich, a 35-year-old Culver City man, plays (or played) the piano as an independent musical contractor at Colburn School of Performing Arts, The Westside Academy of Dance, The California Institute of the Arts and the Los Angeles Ballet. He also allegedly attempted sexual relations with an 11-year-old girl.
The pianist pleaded not guilty today to four charges total, including attempted lewd act upon a child, meeting a minor for lewd purposes, sending harmful matter and contact with a minor for a sexual offense, according to Deputy District Attorney Bradley McCartt, reports The Daily Breeze.
"Inappropriate photographs and email messages" were allegedly sent by Hedderich to the girl on a digital device he had provided to her, said L.A. police. Thankfully, the girl's parents discovered the indecent images and text and called the LAPD. Detectives from the LAPD's Sexually Exploited Child Unit posed as the girl and scheduled a meeting with Hedderich in Pacific Palisades. He was arrested on September 1 when he showed up to meet his "date."
After posting $100,000 bond, Hedderich was released from jail on September 2 and is slated to appear at Airport Branch Courthouse on October 25. He faces up to six years and four months in state prison if convicted.
