Bandit Bear Breaks into Kitchen, Scared off by 12-Year-Old Girl
Lions? No. Tigers? Nada. Bears? One. Kara Jackson, a 12-year-old Forest Falls resident, was home alone on Wednesday afternoon when an unexpected guest - a bear - entered her kitchen. The wild animal clawed through an open kitchen window and positioned himself about ten feet from Jackson.
Luckily, Jackson was prepared to handle her guest. “When I saw him, I clapped as loud as I could and ran upstairs," she told KCAL9. While in her room, she called her dad, Cole Jackson, who then called the Sheriff's Department. Worried about his daughter's safety, Cole found solace knowing that his children are trained to deal with wildlife encounters.
The clumsy visitor knocked over all of the kitchen utensils then abandoned his mission.
This isn't the first time the bear has mingled with the Jackson family. It's the third in the past month. He ripped through a window screen and forced his head and shoulders inside a few weeks ago. Cole scared him off with a flashlight.
We agree with Cole's opinion of the situation. “This is their neighborhood, and we’re just visitors," he said of the brown beasts.
