Have you checked out the intricate beach trash mosaic on the side of Mollusk Surf Shop in Venice yet? To help clean up our beaches and promote the short film "One Beach," the Surfrider Foundation and Barefoot Wine teamed up with four local artists to mastermind the public artwork. A film "about creativity, optimism and fun at work on our coasts around the world," "One Beach" premieres online this afternoon at 3:30pm PDT (6:30pm EDT).
Beginning with a director intro at 3:30pm, the screening follows from 3:35pm until about 4pm. A Q&A with the cast is slated for 4pm. Click here to view "One Beach" on Facebook.
Over the course of the summer, filmmakers captured six people - Richard and Judith Lang, Kevin Cunningham, Barbara de Vries, Tim Silverwood and Jim Moriarty - who showed them "the power of a single person's action," per the Barefoot Wine website. The film invites viewers to "imagine, if we all made one small change to our lives, the impact we could have on the world together."
