SpongeBob SquarePants plays nicely with children but not-so-nicely with adults, especially the ladies. Police detained the beloved Nickelodeon star in front of the Grauman's Chinese Theatre on Hollywood Boulevard on Wednesday.

Tourists who pose for photos with characters in front of the theatre are expected to pony up a couple bucks. Sometimes underpaid or unpaid impersonators become rather aggressive.

Per city rules, characters are forbidden to demand payment but may accept tips.
