Mother Driving SUV Mistakenly Runs Over & Kills Her 3-Year-Old Daughter

A 3-year-old girl was struck and killed by a Ford Excursion SUV in her driveway on Wednesday afternoon. As sad as the story already is, it's about to become much, much more devastating. The driver of the vehicle was the victim's mother.

The accident occurred at 827 N. Adele Street in Orange around 4:30pm. The toddler, identified as Ana Niutupuivaha, was rushed to a local hospital, where she died.

“This appears to be a tragic accident,” said Orange Police Department Sgt. Dan Adams, according to CBS. The mother was reportedly unaware that her daughter had walked in front of the vehicle when she pulled forward in the driveway of their apartment complex.
