Bryan Stow's Medical Care Costs to Exceed $50 Million
Bryan Stow, the Giants fan who was brutally attacked outside of Dodger Stadium on March 31, remains in a coma. Attorneys predict Stow's medical care costs to exceed $50 million.
As part of a lawsuit filed on May 24 by Stow and his children against Dodgers owner Frank McCourt and thirteen team entities, the statement notes around-the-clock care, pain, suffering, lost wages and other calculations as considered elements when totaling the damages figure. This amount must be set before the case progresses in the courts.
A hearing on the team's motions and a pretrial hearing for the two men arrested in the case - Louie Sanchez, 29, and Marvin Norwood, 30, - are slated for September 30. Both men pleaded not guilty and are being held without bail.
Stow's family maintains a website on his behalf and noted his progress as of September 11.
"Since the last update, we got word from Infectious Diseases that the infections are gone so the shunt will possibly be Tuesday. It had also been awhile since we got responses from Bryan, aside from kisses, so yesterday we were excited when he responded a few times. When asked to raise his eyebrows if he can hear us, he raised his eyebrows. We asked him to do this twice and both times he did. Then, when trimming his nose hairs we told him we needed to see his nose, he flared his nostrils."
