Curious Blue Whales Entertain Sightseers off Redondo Coast
Although recent great white shark sightings and a controversial capture have convinced many SoCalians to keep their precious toesies firmly rooted in the sand, less daunting marine life have sightseers clapping their hands and saying "Ooh-Aah!"
A pod of rare blue whales - the largest of mammals - have been putting on quite a show, breaching off the coasts of Redondo Beach.
Voyager Excursions skipper Craig Stanton says they are greeted by about ten blue whales daily, adding that the ocean giants have come within a mile of the mouth of King Harbor in Redondo Beach both last year and in recent days.
The inquisitive mammals have been brushing up against vessels to ogle the silly humans.
