An intense fire roared through a 2,000 foot, single story home owned by Jack Nicholson in the 7300 block of Woodrow Wilson Drive on Friday night. The blaze broke out around 8pm and was under control, thanks to the help of approximately 80 firefighters, by around 9:30pm.

Where was Johnny? Nicholson has not lived in the house since 1975 and rents the property. Situated on a steep hillside and surrounded by heavy, dense brush, its location presented several challenges to the LAFD on Friday night. Navigating the narrow, windy streets of the Hills and the hillside were trying for large fire apparatus.

Two firefighters suffered heat exhaustion and were taken to a local hospital for observation.

The tenant believes chemicals in the garage may have ignited the blaze. The cause of the fire is under investigation, and the dollar loss is being tabulated.
