Reese Witherspoon Hit By Car Driven By Elderly Lady

Oscar-winning actress Reese Witherspoon was hit by a car yesterday morning in Santa Monica while she was out for a jog. The driver of the vehicle was an 84-year-old woman.

Witherspoon suffered minor injuries in the accident and was treated at a local hospital, but don't worry--America's Sweetheart is going to be okay!

The driver was cited for not yielding to a pedestrian using a crosswalk.

How many times to we have to hear about pedestrians and cyclists getting mowed down in LA before people wise up and look EVERYWHERE before moving their vehicle ANYWHERE?

As bad as it sounds, I'm actually hoping that more celebrities get hit (minor injuries of course) so that they can start a movement to remind people to stop driving like assholes. Just about everyday I'm almost hit by a car, and then they get mad at ME for - you know - being in a legal crosswalk and preventing them from turning/going forward without doing that annoying thing of stopping.

This should be a warning to everyone who jogs. Don't just run into the crosswalk with your noise-cancelling earphones on. Watch the cars turning right. Sometimes they just turn, without looking. It's their fault in an accident, but you may be seriously injured. Which could affect your work, your sex life, etc. Be careful out there. Hope Reese recovers fully.
