Alternative 9/11 Plans: Head to the Hollywood Bowl to See The National, Neko Case, and Sharon Van Etten
Without a doubt, Sunday September 11th is going to be a day where most of the nation's attention is focused on remembering the tragedy of ten years ago. While there are several local events planned to mark the somber anniversary, the show must--and will--go on for Angelenos. Few things exemplify summer in L.A. like an evening at the Hollywood Bowl, so that's where we're headed Sunday night.
Brooklyn-based band The National headlines an evening of triumphant, powerful and poetic rock music, all in celebration of the American spirit. Joining The National for a few songs will be The Calder Quartet. Sharing the bill are distinctive singer-songwriters Neko Case - with her guest T Bone Burnett - and Sharon Van Etten. The evening will be hosted by KCRW's Jason Bentley.
Pack your picnics (don't forget the vino and the blanket) and head for the hills!
