Chick-fil-A Hollywood Opens September 22, Will Give Free Chicken for a Year to First 100 Customers

The patience of L.A. fans of Southern-bred Chick-fil-A's hyped chickeny deliciousness has been tested over the past few months, as the much-touted location at the corner of Highland and Sunset remained under construction and prep for opening.

When the cows came to town last year, opening was slated for May. Now we have it right from the chicken's mouth (aka an official press release) that the Hollywood Chick-fil-A will open on September 22nd.

Like when they opened in Valencia in July 2010, the Hollywood Chick-fil-A will open at 6 a.m. and offer free Chick-fil-A for a year for the first 100 adults in line. "The registration line for the promotion opens at the restaurant at 6 a.m., Sept. 21, and typically more than 100 have been waiting when registration begins. In that case, a raffle system is used to determine the first 100 who remain," explains Chick-fil-A.

Now of course, there's the matter of "Good chicken, bad politics?" Even free chicken comes with a price though, and some may be willing to overlook the company's stance on some controversial issues. If you're that kind of mothercluckin' chicken lover, and you spend time in Hollywood, this is indeed good news.

  • If only they weren't homophobic bastards.

  • I'm pretty sure there won't be any Chick-Fil-A WEST Hollywood.  Homophobic jerks.  Anyhow, I'm a vegetarian, so eff 'em twice.

  • Should be some truely hungry folks there.

  • Thanks for that link. Now I know where NOT to spend my money.

  • I can't get over the company's strong connection to the anti-gay lobby. And that they're closed on Sundays.

  • I think having a registration for the first 100 is stupid.  Shouldn't it just be 1st come first served?  Isn't that the fun of camping out? If you have to be in line to register and then you have to be randomly raffled, what's the point?

  • Is it the 21st or 22nd? The article/headline says 22nd, but the quote says the registration opens at 6am on the 21st.

The restaurant opens on the 22nd, but they start taking registration for the "first 100" at 6 a.m. the day before (hence people camping out). "We recommend participants arrive no earlier than 5:30 a.m. local Restaurant time on Wednesday, the day before the store officially opens," they explain. There's a link in the post to CFA's "first 100" info. ;)
