More Bears & Mountain Lions Spotted Garbage Diving & Strolling Sidewalks
Bears and mountain lions have been quite social this summer. Even the current high temps do not stop them from foraging for eats in L.A. 'hoods.
Fish and Game officials were summoned on Tuesday night after a bear was spotted in La Crescenta knocking down trash cans and wandering into a yard. The brown beast visited Canyonside Road and Freeman Avenue around 9:20pm. Though he was late for dinner, he managed to escape to the forest before officials arrived.
Walking along a sidewalk in the 27000 block of Amberwood Lane in North Valencia on Tuesday morning around 7:30am, a mountain lion checked up on residents, making sure all responsible adults were rising with their alarms. Mountain lions do not support snoozing. The large cat retreated to the hills before Fish and Game officials agreed to report to the scene.
A ravine just north of the area where the cougar was seen provides a natural avenue for animals to make inroads into suburban areas from north of Copper Hill Drive and San Francisquito Canyon Road, said Sergeant Richard Negler, according to the Santa Clarita Valley Signal.
